Final Project Proposal:
Reflections
This semester’s Video and Sound Production course guided me through a comprehensive creative journey, progressing from sound design and narrative filming to visual effects experimentation. In Project 1, I learned how audio influences the mood and rhythm of a video by re-editing existing footage and designing sound layers such as ambient noise, effects, and music. Project 2 introduced the full production process—scriptwriting, storyboarding, filming, and editing—where I created a short narrative film and developed a stronger sense of shot composition, pacing, and visual storytelling. For the Final Project, I produced an experimental VFX short inspired by the tarot card The Devil, using techniques like mirror duplication, flickering lights, and atmospheric sound design to depict a psychological struggle between one’s true self and inner illusion. Each project built on the last, helping me develop both technical skills in Premiere Pro and After Effects, and a deeper understanding of how to communicate emotion through image and sound. Looking back, I’ve realized that impactful video work isn’t just about effects or editing tricks—it’s about crafting a rhythm, a tone, and a story that resonates with people on a deeper level.
